IXtension

C4L's IXtension service, provides all the advantages and cost savings of connecting to an Internet Exchange without the need to actually be in the higher cost data centres to connect to them.

IXtension enables you to be able to connect direct to multiple Internet Exchanges in the UK and worldwide without the need to physically be in an Internet Exchange location.

The core Internet Exchanges available are LINX, LONAP, LIPEX, AMS-IX, BL-IX. Connection options include 10Mbps, 100Mbps, 1000Mbps and in certain locations 10Gbps.

All the hard work is taken care of for you, with our Cisco qualified team ready to perform any cabling which may be required, and our 24/7 monitoring on hand to ensure your connection is performing to its optimal level. If you choose a dual port service, from us, we will connect to the internet exchange in multiple locations for you to ensure you'll be guaranteed 100% uptime to your chosen Internet Exchange(s).

Should you choose, we can even manage you Internet Exchange membership process, provide and manage your core routers and provide ongoing support for your network.

Once you have our IXtension service, you can then connect to any number of data centres and Internet Exchanges on your port.

Our connection services are used by FTSE 250 companies, government institutions and over 25% of the UK's top bandwidth providers.

The service is available in over 30 core Data Centres, and is available in 100s more through our extended network.

If you are unsure how much internet traffic will go over an Internet Exchange, why not try C4L's Partial IP Transit service. This will provide you all the direct peers of all the Internet Exchanges, but without the need for Internet Exchange membership and port fees. If you are doing less than 200Mbps of bandwidth, it is usually more cost effective to buy our Partial Transit than to join an Internet Exchange.
